Javier Cidón is an architect specialized in precarious housing and human settlements in developing countries, with focus on disaster risk management. Since 2007, he has worked in different countries around the world (namely Senegal, Zambia, Mozambique, the Philippines, and the whole Caribbean region), both in post-disaster projects and in resilience programs. Hired by different international development and humanitarian agencies such as Architects without Borders, UN-Habitat, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, Oxfam, the World Bank, and Habitat for Humanity. He currently runs a consultancy firm in Spain and is ready to be deployed wherever needed.
