Alison and Peter Smithson, Aldo van Eyck, José Antonio Coderch

Since 2003 she teaches at the Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Alcalá UAH, where she is currently coordinator of the Itinerary of Architectural Constructions and Technological Innovations and a member of the Academic Committee of the Master in Architecture of the UAH. For years, she has conducted Final Degree Projects and Final Master's Projects, promoting a rigorous and expressive materiality in the design process, as well as the integration of theory and practice.

Guest professor at several universities and institutions, her research work has been published among others by the Construction History Society of America, Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus, Editions A. and J Picard Paris, Universidad Nacional Autonóma de México UNAM, Bienal Panamericana de Arquitectura de Quito, Instituto Juan de Herrera and Departmento de Composición Arquitectónica ETSAM UPM, Universidad de Alcalá, Universidad de Valencia, Universidad de Burgos, Universidad de Sevilla, Editorial Lampreave, Ediciones Asimétricas, and Fundación Alejandro de la Sota.

In 2018, she received a research award from the 14th Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial, with her article The Smithsons´s garden. The Upper Lawn Folly Solar Pavilion

She has collaborated at Fundación COAM -with Rafael Hernando and Fernando Altozano- in the programming and direction of the monthly congresses Arquitecturas Construidas, held in 2007.

Since 2006 she has been Secretary of the Spanish Society of Construction History (she is a member since its foundation in 1996), carrying out activities of dissemination and consolidation of the discipline, such as the organization of national and international congresses, among others.

In the professional field, since 1991, she works as an architect in her own architecture office, Rodriguez and Hernando Arquitectos, based in Madrid, in collaboration with Rafael Hernando de la Cuerda, understanding professional practice, teaching work and academic research as complementary facets of their architectonical point of view. Their response is global and integrated, without renouncing to any of the technical, aesthetic, climatic, ecological or economic factors that intervene in the architecture project. They have developed very diverse programs in use as in scale, with a working method based on reflection, research, and in the exhaustive analysis of each specific work, rather than the simple instrumental application of procedures. Their work has been published and exhibited in national and international forums, and has received awards and distinctions.
