AXEL PAULUS

Axel Paulus, born 1971, is an architect and lecturer at the Chair for Architecture and the Building Process at ETH Zurich where he is responsible for research and teaching. Currently he is focusing his research on the role of the architect within the design process, the services and organisational forms of the design professionals as well as future trends and developments in the design and building process. In his teaching role at ETH Zurich he concentrates on the MAS course “Architecture Real Estate Construction” and several CAS courses like “Entrepreunurship for Architects and Civil Engineers”. Additionally, he is acting as an advisor and expert for matters regarding the building process and is a member of several professional commissions. Since 2008 he gives lectures at the Southeast University in Nanjing, P.R. China. In 2011 the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio appointed him to a lectureship calling "leadership in architecture". He is a registered member of the “Foundation of the Swiss Registers of the Professionals in the Subjects of Engineering, Architecture and Environment” (REG A), the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA) and “maneco, Society of Management and Building Economy”, formerly “Association suisse pour l'Economie de la Construction“ (AEC) whose president he was in 2009 to 2012.
