LOW-COST & EMERGENCY HOUSING
Architect by ETSAM-UPM, he is currently an associate researcher at CRAterre, a research laboratory at the Grenoble School of Architecture (ENSAG), France, and an NGO working since 1979 to recognize the potential of local building cultures in order to respond to challenges related to the environment, cultural diversity and the fight against poverty. In this perspective, CRAterre pursues three objectives: improve housing and living conditions, enhance cultural diversity and make better use of local, human and natural resources.
 
Within CRAterre, Enrique contributes to numerous projects in several areas: study and development of local building cultures and vernacular architecture, development of context-based low-cost and emergency housing projects, conservation of heritage, training and school infrastructure in countries of Africa, Latin America and Asia. He also works as an independent architect in projects in Europe mainly in France and Spain.
