Researcher and consultant on feminism and gender related to housing and the city. Graduated in Architecture at the Universidad de la República, Uruguay. PhD in Theory and History of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and Master of the Laboratory of Sustainable Collective Housing also from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. She was a project teacher at FADU, Uruguay and made research at the Permanent Housing Unit at the same University. Her latest research work focuses on unveiling the different ways in which women in general, and those dedicated to architecture in particular, have been discriminated through history. She has been a consultant for the implementation of the gender perspective in urban planning for the development of planning and diagnostics in Uruguay and Spain. She also lectures internationally in postgraduate courses related to gender and architecture, history and feminist methodologies. She is co-founder, co-editor and writer of the Collective Blog Un día | Una arquitecta (One Day | An Architect). She is currently involved in research groups such as GEFAS EN FADU; W@ARCH.PT Arquitectas em Portugal: construção da visibilidade, 1942-1986, or the R+D Project: Women in Spanish (Post)Modern Architectural Culture, 1965-2000 of the Spanish government.
