Balparda Brunel Oficina de Arquitectura (BBOA) is an architecture studio established in Rosario, Argentina in 2012 by Tomas Balparda and Fernando Brunel. The practice is mainly focused on the realization of collective and individual housing projects. Their field of action extends to teaching and experimentation, having had many international recognitions such as the International Architecture Grand Prize ADUS Saint-Gobain + FPAA (Paris, 2021), the nomination for the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (Chicago, 2022) and the selection as one of the Argentine studio in participate in the BAL - Bienal de Arquitectura Latinoamericana (Pamplona, 2021). Their work has been exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale (Venice, 2021), at the Fundación Caja Navarra (Pamplona, 2021), at the Centro de Creación Contemporánea MATADERO (Madrid, 2022), among others. Part of their work has been published by national and international media and publishers such as TC Cuadernos (España), Summa+ (Argentina), A+T (España), Bisman Ediciones (Argentina) y Clarín ARQ (Argentina). The studio has held many conferences at the National University of Rosario (Argentina), the National University of Córdoba (Argentina) and the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), as well as at the Melbourne School of Design (Australia), the Kingston University of London (UK), the European University of Valencia (Spain) and the CEDIM School of Design in Monterrey (Mexico). The studio is currently involved in teaching in the UAI – Universidad Abierta Interamericana (Argentina) and the CEDIM School of Design (Mexico).

 

Tomás Balparda 

Architect from the Facultad de Arquitectura, Planeamiento y Diseño (UNR). He completed the Postgraduate Arquitectura y Tecnología at the University Torcuato Di Tella. He got a scholarship from Chevening for MSC Sustainable Building Design and Performance and he Graduate with merits from Kingston University London. Now he is a professor at the Universidad Abierta Interamericana in Argentina and the CEDIM School of Design in Monterrey (Mexico)

 

Fernando Brunel 

Architect from the Facultad de Arquitectura, Planeamiento y Diseño (UNR). Graduate with 3th prize of merits. He completed the Postgraduate in Arquitectura Aplicada (MArch) at the European University of Valencia. Now he is a professor at the Univeridad Abierta Interamericana in Argentina and the CEDIM School of Design in Monterrey (Mexico).
