MARIOLA MERINO

CITY SCIENCES

She is very proud to be part of Crea Madrid Nuevo Norte multidisciplinary team for Madrid Nuevo Norte Project development, currently as Design, Innovation and Sustainability Director. She is passionate about designing a sustainable city for our small planet. Previusly as an Associate Architect and Project Lead at RSHP, she was instrumental in laying the foundations for the design criteria and coordinated the international design team within CMNN’s technical office. I also supported both the Technical Business Area and Communication departments in delivering critical requirements. She thoroughly enjoyed managing the design process with autonomy in the role, which ensuring consistency and effective collaboration

across all disciplines.

Upon joining RSHP in 2007 I initially worked onsite as part of the core team to ensure successful delivery for a sustainable development model project, to deliver the new headquarters of Abengoa, in Seville. The project received the LEED Platinum Certificate, the ‘Excellence in Design’ Award from the American Institute of Architects (UK) and the RIBA European Award. She was also a key member of the design team of the Atrio Project, to deliver a Business Hub in Bogotá. This

is a mixed-use urban development in the central area of Bogotá consisting of two towers in a public space, which are currently under construction. She specialized in workplace design strategy, consequently I was promoted

Associate Architect at RSHP.

It should be noted, She was the Architect Lead for planning, security and circulation strategies, on the Taoyuan Terminal 3 Project. She coordinated the international team and developed my skills in airport planning and strategies

for transport system buildings. Prior to joining RSHP She worked on the CIAT Athletic Stadium project, based in Tenerife. She was involved from commencement to the final stage of construction. It was my very successful first step in her career, this project was chosen for NY MoMA’s Spanish Architecture Exhibition.
