Once more, we are spreading the word about the professional success of our former MCH Alumni. The project Colonia Donceles has been selected to participate in the International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale 2020. It will be part of the Mexican selected projects, and it has been designed and built by O'Gorman & Hagerman Abogados (Juan O'Gorman y Pablo Gutiérrez de la Peza), together with JC Arquitectura (Juan Carral) and Kiltro Polaris ARCH (Víctor Ebergenyi, MCH'2011 participant).

Colonia Donceles project is an urban recovery and social impact project, through specific insertions of collective housing buildings, with different housing typologies and mixed uses. It is located in the Donceles neighborhood, in Cancun, a popular neighborhood built for workers in the mid-eighties that had suffered a huge deterioration of public space and existing housing.

Through architecture, a small economic activity has been generated, where local employment is created, the community is involved in decision making, neighborhood commerce is provided, people from different social classes are related to different activities... In addition, it is a replicable scheme, economically and socially sustainable.

Master in Collective Housing UPM/ETH

The Master of Advanced Studies in Collective Housing is a professional and international postgraduate programme that is developed on a full-time basis, dealing with advanced architectural design in the city and housing. It is designed and taught jointly by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH).
