Josep Maria Montaner Martorell, Professor of the Master in Collective Housing, will give a lecture on October 10th, at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM-UPM). 

 

The lecture is titled: "The industrial heritage in the planning of the contemporary city: the case of Barcelona" (El patrimonio industrial en la ordenación de la ciudad contemporánea, el caso de Barcelona), and it is planned for the next Wednesday, in Aula Magna, ETSAM. 10:30 hrs. 

 

The lecture is organized by "Aula Gestión e Intervención sobre el Patrimonio Cultural de la Arquitectura y la Industria" from ETSAM UPM. 

Josep Maria Montaner Martorell  

Josep Maria Montaner is a Spanish architect and university professor of Theory of the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona. Since June 2015, he works as housing city councilor in Sant Martí district, Barcelona. Former co-director of the Housing Laboratory of the 21st Century master’s degree, he has taught at several universities and institutions in Europe, America, and Asia, and has been curator of different exhibitions including Habitar el presente. Vivienda en España: sociedad, ciudad, tecnología y recursos (Living the Present. Housing in Spain: Society, Technology and Resources, 2006), for which Zaida Muxí was co-curator. 

 

Professor Montaner has been part of the MCH 2017 as a leader professor of the Co-Housing Workshop. In 2018, he was a guest lecturer as part of the module of Housing Projects.

The Master of Architecture in Collective HousingMCH, is a postgraduate full-time international professional program of advanced architecture design in cities and housing presented by Universidad Politécnica of Madrid (UPM) and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). Next edition of the MAS in Collective Housing will start in January 2019, and the application period is opened.
