Directed by distinguished architects of international renown, the workshop weeks are designed to offer participants a unique and transformative opportunity to develop and refine their technical, analytical, and argumentative skills. These workshops are far more than theoretical exercises; they provide an intensive, hands-on exploration of contemporary architectural challenges. Each workshop brings a fresh perspective, offering participants the chance to engage with cutting-edge ideas and diverse methodologies under the guidance of renowned guest architects who bring their unique expertise to the table.
During these weeks, there is a distinct shift in pace and focus. Participants step away from their regular academic routines and specialties, fully immersing themselves in the workshop’s rigorous and fast-paced environment. This change in rhythm is intentional, allowing students to concentrate exclusively on the workshop’s subject matter, thereby extracting the maximum value from the experience. The goal is to foster deep engagement and intensive learning, encouraging participants to think critically and creatively while working under the guidance of leading professionals.
The topic, focus, and methodology of each workshop are intentionally varied, ensuring that students encounter a broad spectrum of architectural problems and solutions. This diversity exposes participants to a wide range of approaches, from traditional design techniques to cutting-edge innovations. Each workshop is structured to offer a unique learning experience, enriching the students’ understanding and expanding their professional toolkit.
Additionally, every participant is paired with a local architect who acts as an assistant during the workshop. These local professionals complement the efforts of the workshop leaders by offering additional guidance, insights, and support to the students. This collaborative setup creates a dynamic learning environment where knowledge is shared and amplified.
Each workshop consists of 25 hours of instruction (7 workshops totaling 3 ECTS credits each) and is scheduled throughout the academic year, ensuring a well-rounded and continuous learning experience.
