Housing Practice

Santiago Pradilla is a Colombian architect with a master’s degree in habitat. Co-founder of the offices EL TALLER DE (S), and PALAFITO ARQUITECTURA from where as a developer, he has directed, designed and built housing buildings of high urban impact.

In 2019 he received the National Architecture Prize, awarded by the Colombian Society of Architects, as well as several other awards from other countries.

As a teacher Santiago Pradilla has worked mainly at the Universidad Javeriana and the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota; but he has also collaborated with the ETH University of Zurich, in the Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) ETH as well as occasional collaborations in the ESTAM in Madrid and the Instituto Empresa in Segovia.

Palafito Arquitectura is a studio that operates offices in Bogotá, Colombia and Madrid, Spain. It is directed by Laura Vispe and Santiago Pradilla. Its work, with a few exceptions, has been in housing projects of different scales and in a wide variety of contexts. It has twice won the Colombian Biennial of architecture and has received recognition as a finalist in the BIAU, the Mies, Arquia, among others
