KHALDA EL JACK

Khalda El Jack is an architect and urban researcher with over 10 years of experience, currently based at the OSA Research Group in KU Leuven’s International Center of Urbanism. Her research focuses on the intersection of land, power relations and resistance practices that stem from organized mobility and practices of everyday life. The research mobilizes critical collective mapping as a methodology to map otherwise the territory of Janoob Al Hizam, south of the Sudanese capital of Khartoum. She is a receiver of Alserkal’s Research Grant 2023 and USAID’s Transitional Development Fund together with Sudanese collaborator Studio Urban.
