Sascha Roesler
Prof. Dr. Sascha Roesler is an architect and theorist, working at the intersection of architecture, ethnography, and science and technology studies. Since 2016, he is a professor for architecture and theory at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, Switzerland (Università della Svizzera Italiana), with a focus on the theory and history of ecology and climate in architecture and urban design. His books comprise the first global history of architectural ethnography: “Weltkonstruktion” (Berlin 2013, 2021), and “Habitat Marocain Documents” (Zurich 2015), a volume on the transformation of a colonial settlement in Casablanca. More recently Roesler co-edited the anthology “The Urban Microclimate as Artifact” (Basel 2018). Roesler is one of the laureates of the Swiss Art Award for Architecture (2012).
