Verónica Sanchez Carrera
Vero S. Carrera holds a PhD in Urban Architecture (UAH), a Master’s in Advanced Architectural and Urban Design (UAH), and postgraduate specializations in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in International Cooperation (UPM) and in Human Settlements Development in the Third World (UPM–ICHaB, UNESCO Chair).
Since 2004, she has developed her career as an independent professional in architecture and urban planning. In 2007, she focused her work on International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid. Her experience in emergency infrastructures has led her to participate in responses to various humanitarian crises, working in diverse contexts and countries with major humanitarian organizations. She has been a member of the World Health Organization, where she coordinated the development of design and construction guidelines for infectious disease treatment centres.
In 2011, she co‑founded the organisation n’UNDO and its technical office n’OT | Global–Human–Environment as an alternative to traditional urban planning, where she has channelled her concerns for the city and the environment. Her practice includes project development, consultancy work, and evaluations.
She combines her professional activity with teaching and research. For more than twenty years, she has continued learning alongside students at different universities.
