Antonio López Gay

Researcher at the Department of Geography, Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), and the Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics (CED-CERCA). Holds a PhD in Demography (UAB) and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography (UB). Specializes in urban demography, exploring the relationship between urban transformations and population dynamics. His research focuses on the socio-spatial transformation of urban areas, examining the impact of phenomena such as gentrification and touristification on the sociodemographic composition of populations. Additionally, he investigates the role of housing and residential mobility on population redistribution, the migration of skilled individuals in interregional movements, and the attraction of highly qualified migrants to global cities, often characterized by transient itineraries.
