Héctor Torres

Housing Practice

Héctor Torres was born in 1984 in Teruel, architect since 2010. He started his career in 2007 collaborating with several architectural firms, being part of awarded national and international architectural and urban design competitions. In 2008 he co-founded the LayerCake architects team focused on urban design and landscape and awarded with several prizes in European competitions. In 2011 he graduated from the Master in Collective Housing at Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). That same year Héctor Torres started his own studio obtaining the 1st prize of a Social Housing competition promoted by the Municipality of Madrid. In 2013 he graduated from the Master of Advanced Architectural Projects at UPM where he collaborated as lecturer and researcher. From 2014 to 2016 he worked in the USA in the Boston-based firm Arrowstreet Inc. Since 2017 he is back to his own studio in Madrid where he is focused on the construction of housing projects.
