Max Gigling holds a PhD in social psychology from the Université Montpellier III, France (1998). He has been lecturer at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Canada (1998-2002), and, more recently, guest lecturer at the Housing Chair of Zaragoza, the Master in Urban Rehabilitation and Regeneration (UPV de Valencia), the Postgraduate Degree in Housing Policies (Universitat Rovira i Virgili) and the Master in Advanced Studies in Collective Housing and City (UPM Madrid and ETH Zurich).
For almost two decades, he has worked mainly as a researcher and consultant in the field of housing data and policies. Among other responsibilities, he has been lead author of the Strategic Housing Plan of the City of Valencia (2017), technical coordinator of the Housing Needs and Demand Survey of the Valencian Community (2007, 2009, 2017), part of the drafting team of the White Paper on Housing in the Valencian Community (2018), lead researcher of the Reference Price of Rent in the Valencian Community (2018), author of a study on Rent Regulation in Germany and France (2019), author of a study on Rental Housing Cooperatives in Quebec (2019), author of a diagnosis of the housing situation in Alcoy (2020) and Elda (2021), lead author of the Strategic Housing Plan of Oliva (2022) and lead researcher of two housing demand surveys with the Observatori Metropolità de l'Habitatge de Barcelona (2020, 2021).
