Miriam Gil

Special class

Miriam Gil Ausin is an architect and Head of Architecture at Pilsferrer, a Madrid-based practice specialising in residential renovation and interior design. She joined the studio as its first employee and has grown with it, now leading its architecture team and overseeing each project from design through to construction. Over more than ten years of practice she has led over 60 projects at Pilsferrer, from full home renovations to interior design and property launches. Before Pilsferrer, she worked at Álvarez-Sotelo Arquitectos and in the Architecture department at Loewe, and also spent time working at an art gallery.

Miriam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, as well as a Master’s Degree in Architecture. This dual training in architecture and art shapes her approach to the domestic interior: a careful reading of the existing building, attention to light and composition, and a close relationship with materials and craft.

Teaching runs alongside her practice. She teaches Design Studio on the Interior Design degree at Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid.

The MCH Master brings together leading architects and researchers from across the world.
