Peter Heuken

Urban design & Landscape

Peter Heuken is a wood engineer and Richter’s director of special projects worldwide. He began his Richter career in 1992, bringing to the team expertise in wood engineering and cabinetry. He has served as project lead for award-winning playgrounds including the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Playground in Kensington Gardens, Madrid Rio Salon de Pinos and Arganzuela Park in Spain, and the Gathering Place of Tulsa, USA.

His creative work animates diverse play environments including Lego Billund Theme Park, Alnwick Castle Tree Walk, Playmobil Leisure Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park New York, Governors Island New York, Maggie Daley Park Chicago, The Petr and Pavel play ship at the New Holland playground in St. Petersburg, Russia, Gorki Park in Moscow and most recently Gathering Place in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Peter continues to design, dream, play, and create indoor and outdoor play spaces worldwide. He has been a member of ASLA since 2016 as part of his active contributions to the culture of play in America.
